Why the Notion Notes for PC app?
If you’re searching for a note-taking app, there are plenty of options. Which one is right for you really depends on what you need and want from such a utility. For many years, Evernote sailed ahead of all the other apps, but the most recent version has been so buggy and unreliable, not to mention expensive, that it’s increasingly difficult to recommend (it maintains its PCMag Editors’ Choice award for now but is pending rereview). Feature-wise, Microsoft OneNote is still a fantastic option and an Editors’ Choice winner, although its interface, style, and freeform page layout are not for everyone. Choosing any of the other note-taking apps often requires you to make trade-offs between features and platform support.
From study trackers to personal journaling, Notion has a huge variety of templates. The app is highly customizable with its pages, task lists, kanban boards, and dashboards.
One of the most commonly used features is the task list, which is a replacement for apps like Todoist. Notion Notes PC provides an easy way to tick tasks off your list, just like you would on a planner. The digital version lets you move around and rearrange the items as needed. I keep a task list for every day of the week at the bottom of my central dashboard, rearranging them when necessary or changing them to different days. Once ticked off, the line grays out.
One of the best features is the ability to create new pages and each one of those pages can have its own subtopics. Within those pages, oftentimes, I create more subpages to keep organized. It sounds complicated, but it basically mimics pieces of paper inside folders.
Notion Notes for Windows Features:
- Infinite Hierarchy – Pages within pages within pages. Nest to your heart’s content
- Tables & Databases – Categorize your data exactly how you want, and reference data from other tables or projects
- Markdown Support
- Drag & Drop – Drag a box around items and move it around the page, just like an editor.
- A web clipper browser extension
- Sync data between devices
- Native Android, iPhone, Windows, and Mac apps.
How Much Does Notion Notes PC Cost?
Notion offers four tiers of service: Personal (free), Personal Pro ($5 per month), Team ($10 per person per month), and Enterprise ($25 per person per month). For all these plans, you get a slight discount if you pay for a year of service upfront.
A Free plan can be collaborative, but with limitations. You can invite five guests to collaborate and co-edit individual pages, which is different from collaborating with people in a Workspace (that is, a notebook) where they can create new pages (notes).
Previously, users of Notion’s free plan could create 1,000 of what the company calls “blocks”: individual elements you add to Notion documents, such as text, tasks, embedded maps, or calendars. After that, you had to pay $5 per month to create new blocks.
Now, free users will be able to add as many blocks as they like to their personal Notion Notes database. The app’s community has built a broad range of templates highlighting potential uses: creating to-dos, keeping a journal, storing recipes, making a list of books to read, or publishing simple websites through a tool that allows you to make Notion pages public.
