Launched in 2017 by IIT-Delhi alumni Aditya Shankar and Tanushree Nagori, Doubtnut is a multi-lingual online learning platform that uses artificial intelligence and ML technologies for image recognition, natural language processing and proprietary machine learning algorithms to provide video-based solutions in response to students’ queries. With 1.2 million daily active users, it is one of the most used education platforms in India in the K-12 segment. The platform uses image recognition technologies to provide solutions to some mathematical and science questions. To find the solution to a question, one has to upload an image depicting the question. The app extracts text from the image and tries to match it in its database of questions which are pre-answered, having recorded video solutions. If it finds a match, then the result is provided to the user otherwise it asks the user to post their question publicly for tutors available on the platform to provide a video explaining his query
